What exactly are LED lashes, and how do they function?

We are excited to announce the introduction of our highly anticipated LED Lashes at our salons in Newtown and Parramatta, with Gosford to follow soon – and the results have been incredible! LED lashes differ slightly from traditional eyelash extensions due to the type of adhesive and curing method used. Sometimes referred to as UV lashes or UV extensions, this term is misleading as an LED light is used, which is quite different. We are among a select few salons in Sydney offering LED lashes. This advanced technique uses a special LED lamp to cure each lash individually, providing exceptional retention results when applied by skilled professionals. The process is safe, thoroughly tested, and we absolutely love it!

Benefits of LED Lashes

Thanks to this unique curing method, the bond is incredibly strong and resistant to oils, making it ideal for clients who struggle with lash retention, have oily skin or hair, or have lashes that are thick or straight and have difficulty holding extensions. The adhesive cures instantly, eliminating the need to avoid water for 24 hours and preventing unstable curing or lash loss. If you’re a swimmer, gym-goer, or just want long-lasting lashes, this could be a game-changer.

For those with busy schedules, LED lashes may even help extend the time between infills by an additional week! If you have sensitive eyes and usually experience irritation from regular lash adhesives, LED lashes can often eliminate this, leaving you with no redness after treatment. Although LED lashes don't completely prevent adhesive allergies, we offer a more resin-based LED adhesive that many clients who were previously allergic to regular adhesives can tolerate. If you want to try this option, book one of our Sensitive LED sets (you can later upgrade to thicker sets like hybrid or volume after confirming no allergic reaction).

Patch Test and Contraindications

You can request a patch test for LED/Sensitive LED lashes to see if they work for you. LED lashes are not recommended if you are on photosensitizing medications, have photodermatosis, epilepsy, hemophilia, are undergoing cancer treatment, or have active skin cancers.

Aftercare and Safety

Aftercare for LED lashes is similar to traditional extensions—daily cleaning with a lash cleanser is essential for maintaining healthy eyelids. Unlike traditional extensions, LED lashes can get wet immediately after treatment. We use the Aura Monaco Beamlight system, which has been thoroughly tested and is 100% safe for eyes and skin. This German-engineered system complies with the highest global safety standards, including CE and FDA certifications.

Limited Availability

Currently, only a few of our stylists are offering this service as we gradually introduce more equipment across all our salons, so availability is limited.
